Indian vision science conference will galvanize quality eye health research

ResMeet\'22, the conference on Indian vision science research, opened today raising hopes of  new technology and innovation to address eye health issues in India. 

Participants and speakers at the online conference, 18 and 19 June, will aim to promote and  strengthen vision science and the eye health sector. 

\"IVI\'s ResMeet is an annual conference. I thank LVPEI’s Dr Shrikant Bharadwaj and Dr  Premnandhini Satgunam, Dr Ramesh S Ve of Manipal College of Health Professions (MAHE),  Dr Jameel Rizwana of Rivoli Vision Academy, and Dr Aiswaryah Radhakrishnan of SRM  Institute of Science and Technology for taking the lead in making ResMeet happen. I also thank  Zeiss India for their support to the conference,\" said IVI\'s CEO, Vinod Daniel. 

\"The role of vision science research is critical in strengthening systems and finding new  technology and solutions to provide better access to vision screening, corrective glasses, and  also for developing innovative interventions to address ocular conditions such as myopia,  cataract, glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy,\" he said. 

ResMeet\'22 has 22 leading researchers from India and abroad talking and discussing  developments in vision science research. 

\"One of IVI\'s key priorities is to promote vision science research in India. Through ResMeet we are hoping to promote the research culture and see more and more eye health professionals come to the fore in vision science research to find solutions for health problems,\" Mr Daniel  noted. 

The topics themes of ResMeet\'22 include Visual Neuroscience, Structure-Function Corelation,  Multidisciplinary Ophthalmic Imaging, Physiological Optics, Technology and Innovation, and Visual Consequences of Brain Injury. 

The conference is open to eye health professionals and others interested.
