IVI's gift of protective eyewear, sunglasses to benefit stone workers, fisherfolk in Mahabalipuram

India Vision Institute (IVI) has brought the gift of protective eyewear and sunglasses for communities in Mahabalipuram. 

As part of IVI\\\\\\\'s vision campaign for communities at Mahabalipuram in Kancheepuram district, 300 protective glasses for stone workers and 200 sunglasses for fishermen were distributed today in the presence of Mahabalipuram Chairman Vishwanathan and Kadalmallai Kalsirppa Padaipalargal Sangam President M. Adhimulam, and IVI\'s CEO Vinod Daniel. 

Those present at the event also included Secretary T. Baskaran, Treasurer M.Perumal, Vice President C.Sambath, Assistant Secretary M.Anandhan, Honorary Consultant and other members.

Mr Vishwanathan said, \\\\\\\"Nothing gives us more happiness than to provide these protective eyewear for stone workers and fishermen. I thank IVI for this gesture which will offer protection to fishermen from harmful UV rays and prevent stone splinters and particles enter the eyes of the stone workers.\"

IVI\\\\\\\'s CEO Vinod Daniel said \"we work to provide access to vision screening and free glasses to those in need. In Tamil Nadu, IVI has provided over 30,000 glasses to adults and children in 130,000 screenings in Tamil Nadu.

\"Nationally some 90,000 adults and 300,000 children have benefited from screenings IVI\'s screenings since our inception in 2012,\" Mr Daniel noted.
