India Vision Institute donates Masks, PPE kit, Sanitisers to police, sanitary workers and multi-specialty hospital

India Vision Institute, a not-for-profit NGO working to provide the underprivileged access to vision screening and spectacles, today donated 2,000 face masks, 40 PPE kit, 200 face shields, and 100 sanitisers to the local police, sanitary workers and a hospital.

The donation is made possible thanks to the generous support of Essilor Vision Foundation, our long-term supporter.

The supplies were distributed to the Law & Order and Traffic Departments of Neelankarai Police Station (Chennai), and to the Tamil Nadu Government Super Specialty Hospital, Omandurar, Anna Salai (Chennai).

“This is our contribution to help the frontline warriors in their fight against the spread of Covid-19. They include the medical fraternity, para-medics, police and sanitary workers. I am also delighted that this is in line with the Government of India’s directive to NGOs to come forward and help,” said Mr Daniel.

“People in the forefront battling the pandemic are tirelessly working day in and day out to keep us safe from the disease, unmindful of the danger to themselves.”

“As a responsible organisation, IVI’s contribution should help those involved directly in saving lives and preventing the pandemic from spreading, safe and protected,” added Mr Daniel.

To the public from IVI: Stay safe, stay home, wash hands frequently using soap and sanitisers, and keep physical distance.
