IVI in collaboration with LVPEI conducted Faculty Support Program in Geometrical Optics from 21 March- 02 April 2016. Hosted at LVPEI-KAR campus, the program was facilitated by Dr L S Varadharajan- Research Scientist, Visual Optics and Psychophysics Laboratory, LVPEI.

Mr Darshan Dave- Lecturer, Nagar School of Optometry, Ahmedabad, attended the 13 day program that focused on curriculum scheming, assessment patterns, possibility for research in Geometrical Optics for faculty as well as students etc.

Entailing discussions and key notes from an academic point of view in Geometrical Optics, the program aimed at giving firsthand experience to the trainee. The course thus involved guidance on lecture delivering methods, identification of available resources and recognizing various evaluation patterns.

“The program was very well designed and organized. The schedule of the program and its execution was great. Selection of points and time given to each topic was good. A great over-all experience, the program provided me opportunities to learn new things and discuss my doubts related to my subject. I feel blessed to get mentor like Dr. Rajan who gave me new ideas to think on various research topics available in Geometrical optics. I would like to thank IVI for the support and cooperation provided.” – Darshan Dave, Lecturer, Nagar School of Optometry, Ahmedabad.

The program had been awarded 20 CE points by the Optometry Council of India.

IVI acknowledges the support of Brien Holden Vision Institute Foundation and Optometry Giving Sight in funding the program
