Workshop on Ocular Implications of Systemic Diseases

IVI organised a one day workshop on Ocular Implications of Systemic Diseases on Monday, 4 May at Hyderabad. Focusing on diagnosis, management of Diabetes, Hypertension, Cancer, Connective Tissue disorders, Tuberculosis, Multiple Sclerosis, AIDS and Nutritional Deficiency and their effect on the ocular health, the workshop was attended by over 30 students and professionals from Hyderabad Central University, Bausch and Lomb School of Optometry, Hyderabad and Sharat Laser Eye Hospital, Warangal.


The workshop was facilitated by a panel of experts including Dr Vijay Anand Reddy, Director and Senior Consultant at Apollo Cancer Institute; Dr Jumana Hussain, Assistant Professor at Apollo Institute of Medical Sciences and Research; Dr Archana Bhargava, Dr Nikitha Soni, Dr Nikhil Kumar, Dr Prashanthi Reddy, Dr Mufeez Rehman Khan, all physicians at the Internal Medicine Department at LV Prasad Eye Institute; and Dr Akshay Badakere, Clinical Associate Pediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus and Neuro Ophthalmology at LV Prasad Eye Institute.


The program was awarded 03 credit points by Optometry Council of India.
